Callie from Monster Hollow Studios shared a booth with me again at Artsfest. This was the second time we’d done this show, and we were very happy with our improvements from last year. Last year we spent a lot of time twiddling our thumbs, but this year we were constantly ringing up customers and wrapping their purchases.
I don’t know how any artist does these types of things by themselves, though, because it is a lot of work to handle by yourself! Working with Callie is just a joy, because not only does our work show well together (we sold within 5 dollars of each other), but we are good friends. We see eye-to-eye on our goals and how a show should be set, and we make sure to talk about everything, especially money, so that no misunderstandings or resentments spring up. As our husbands can attest, we never have a problem chatting!
Callie and I both took off yesterday and recuperated from this intense weekend, but now we are back to work and preparing for our gallery show in November-December!
