And Me Without My…

My sketchbook is where I pour out all those little ideas swimming around my head so that I know I won’t forget them but I can let my mind move on, knowing they are safe.

When I am working on something from a sketch, it helps to have that to refer to so that I am reminded of what I meant when I was more inspired.

So when I realized I left my sketchbook in my mom’s car when she and my sister drove away, it threw me a bit. I had spent hours on drive back to Ithaca sketching a new concept that had been germinating for a few days, and now that I can start making it, my reference material is gone.

Today I tried re-sketching the idea but the spark wasn’t there. I hate re-creating. I will try another day, but hopefully my lovely mother will mail the sketchbook back soon!

As for the trip, it was great fun exploring with my sister and mom– we hadn’t done a trip like this for a long time, and it was really nice to just spend time together.

You know I was just thinking yesterday I need to take a page out of your book and start writing things down and sketching more! I hope you get your book back soon and good luck with the new project, I cant wait to see it!
